On June 8, students at Glenbrook Middle School had an ice cream celebration as a part of their "Chill Out And Read" program. Students read 1,120 books in less than a three-month period. To congratulate them, owner of Friendly's on Bliss Road, Steve Scriver, not only donated the ice cream, but also came to Glenbrook and scooped it for nearly 400 students. This reading program was a part of the school's Book Worms Club.
