Despite change in hauler, trash program stays the same

LONGMEADOW On July 5, Central Mass Disposal, Longmeadow's new trash hauler, began collecting both trash and recycling in Longmeadow.

The collection program is exactly the same as it has been with trash collected every week and recycling collected weekly, alternating paper products one week and bottles and cans the other.

The schedule and information on the annual recycling calendar is accurate except for the hauler contact information. Residents who have a collection problem should call Central Mass Disposal at 1-800 352-3255. Residents with recycling or other waste questions should call the Town's DPW at 567-3400.

The Town's recycling campaign "Turn your trash into cash Recycle" is ongoing. Please remember to flatten all cardboard and cut it so that pieces are no larger than 3 ft x 3 ft.

Residents are encouraged to recycle so that the town saves money in disposal costs and receives revenue from the recycling. All residents' recycling efforts make a difference.
