Duquette announces campaign activities

LONGMEADOW Gerold Duquette, candidate for School Committee, announced recently that he will host office hours.

Every Monday, from 6-8 p.m., he will "set up shop" on the Longmeadow town green and speak to all anyone who stops by about anything on their minds. Duquette said no topic is off- limits, though he hopes many will want to discuss the schools and the town's future.

"I'll be the guy in the lawn chair with Duquette for School Committee signs around him. It's BYO lawn chairs," Duquette said.

"Every community needs to encourage ongoing and thoughtful discussion about issues relevant to the public interest. I intend to initiate such discussions at every opportunity, before and after the election," he added.

All are welcome, including other candidates with their signs, their ideas, and their lawn chairs.

"Also, be on the look out for me as I 'ride' for School Committee. If you see me on my sign- decorated bike with or without kids in tow, please wave me over for conversation about our schools and our future. My goal is to increase civic dialogue while decreasing my waistline," he added.
