Fire on Ice

Date: 12/16/2021

LONGMEADOW – To celebrate the eighth and final night of Hannukah, which ran from sundown Nov. 28 to sundown Dec. 6 this year, Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy (LYA) partnered with the Longmeadow Shops to host “Fire on Ice,” an evening with music, storytelling, entertainment and an ice sculpture.

Families read the story of Hannukah along a story walk and children made menorahs by gluing paper “candles” to paper plates along the walk. For refreshments, there was hot cocoa, donuts and latkes - fried potato pancakes that are a tradition during the holiday. Traditional and secular songs played while people watched a fire dancer entertain the crowd of around 200 people.
