Graczykowski seeks position on Planning Board

~ Submitted by Peter Graczykowski

LONGMEADOW - Longmeadow resident Peter Graczykowski has announced his candidacy for a seat on the Planning Board. As a concerned homeowner, Graczykowski said he would strive to maintain the unique character of the community while carefully considering area development and tax base consequences to Longmeadow residents.

Graczykowski said that his goals, if elected, are to assure a fuller participation of local residents in the decision making process by an open public comment process and keeping all interested parties well informed. He said he would support sensible commercial development and fair dealing with non-profit organizations, with the main emphasis on tax base growth or exchange of services between the Town and such organizations.

Graczykowski is a graduate of Western New England School of Law and a licensed attorney in the State of Connecticut. He also holds an M.B.A. degree from Western New England College and B.S. in Business Management from Westfield State College. Graczykowski has had a 12-year career with Chicopee Electric Light, where he currently works in the position of Marketing Support Coordinator and Key Account Contact. He also volunteers as a certified Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau of Western Massachusetts.

Graczykowski said he trusts that his extensive involvement in the committee work - at the Municipal Electric Association of Massachusetts, Northeast Public Power Association, CEL Advisory Committee; Hydro Quebec Advisory Committee; and WSC Judicial Board - will allow him to be a successful Planning Board member in Longmeadow.

He is married to Allison L. Graczykowski. As a homeowner in Longmeadow, Graczykowski said he understands the zoning challenges his community faces. As a highly skilled and experienced professional, equally proficient in legal and business spheres, he believes he would be a valued member of the Planning Board team, making responsible decisions for Longmeadow's future.
