The popular, fun filled event, will be a dinner dance and auction with entertainment provided by Longmeadow High School musicians. This year's theme is Through The Decades with The Glamour Girls. The three Glamour Girls and their band will perform popular dance hits from the 60's, 70's and 80's. This year's Gala co-chairs are Moira Murphy and Karen Nystrom. According to Murphy and Nystrom, more than 200 items of merchandise have been donated by local businesses and residents for the live and silent auctions that night. Some of the auction items up for bid include weekend getaways, bottles of wine, tickets to sports events, sports memoribilia, gift certicates to restaurants, art and much more. A new item to be auctioned this year is a block of 26 Red Sox tickets with transportation to Fenway Park for the winner and friends provided in a Peter Pan V.I.P. coach bus with TV's, a gallery kitchen and hostess. The Longmeadow Educational Excellence Foundation is a private, non-profit organization established in 2001, to enrich, enhance and support the quality of education in the Longmeadow Public Schools. LEEF is committed to underwriting grants to provide the schools with extraordinary opportunities beyond the scope of tax-supported budgets. Recently, LEEF awarded 21 new grants in the amount of $119,151. to Longmeadow teachers. Since 2001, 101grants have been awarded totaling $359,000. LEEF grants represent all grade levels across a broad range of subjects in all of the schools. Tickets for the Gala are $65 per person and are available until Nov. 15.
