LEEF will host annual gala

LONGMEADOW The Longmeadow Educational Excellence Foundation (LEEF) will hold its 4th annual Gala on Nov. 14 at Chez Joseph in Aawam from 6:30pm til midnight. The dinner dance features both silent and live auctions and entertainment by Longmeadow High School musicians. Dancing will be to the music of the Frank Manzi Band. The theme of this year's Gala is "Cruising for Education." Tickets are $60 and can be purchased up to Nov. 4. They will not be sold at the door.

LEEF is a non-profit foundation that provides grants for innovative education and enrichment programs beyond the tax-supported budget for the benefit of all Longmeadow public school students. Seventy nine grants totaling $233,997 have been awarded over the past 4 years in a variety of subject areas including art, music, science, math, technology and foreign language.

LEEF will graciously accept donations to be auctioned, corporate sponsorships, as well as the help of volunteers. Items typically donated for auction include gift certificates, weekend getaways, theater and sports tickets, artwork, sports memorabilia and catered dinners.
