| LONGMEADOW The Longmeadow High School football team's booster club, the GridIron, has teamed up with Velocity Sports Performance for the 2006 Fall season. Velocity Sports Performance is located in East Longmeadow and focuses on training athletes to be quicker, stronger, more powerful and more agile. Velocity will be selling raffle tickets at each home game, in place of the usual 50/50 raffle, giving fans the opportunity to win more prizes and also the chance to participate in a halftime field goal kicking contest. One hundred percent of the ticket proceeds will go directly to the GridIron Booster Club. The first three raffle winners will have the chance to kick a 15 and 30 yard field goal during halftime. Velocity is donating eight free training sessions to anyone who successfully kicks 15 yard field goals and 24 free training sessions for a successful 30 yard field goal. Fans who purchase raffle tickets also have the chance to win one of seven other prizes: $50 in cash, a $20 gift certificate to Uno's Chicago Grill and Velocity t-shirts. |
