Library offers program for tots to teens

LONGMEADOW Visit the Storrs Library and join in the following activities and programs. On Monday, June 22, youngsters of all ages and their parents are invited to our Kids Night registration as we begin our What's Buzzin' at Your Library? reading program.

Join us from 5 to 7 p.m. for music with Jon O'Neill, and a free ice cream social.The Longmeadow Lodge of Masons sponsors this event and everyone is invited for an evening of fun.

June 23, students entering grade five or older who want to take part in the Summer Reader Storytime Program, an activity that promotes reading to preschoolers, are invited to an informational meeting at 1:30 p.m.

There will also be a meeting for students entering grade five or older who are interested in becoming a summer volunteer, June 23, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. Students are asked to volunteer for a one-hour period.A schedule of days and hours will be available at the meeting.

From June 26 to Friday of the same week, Crafty Critters, a craft packet for kids of all ages, will be available.This packet allows participants to explore their imagination with directions to take, make and create at home.

Pick up your entry form for our Travel Bug Photo Contest beginning June 27, through July 28.Take pictures of Webster the Travel Bug on some of your adventures! All entries will be on display in the lobby of the library and prizes will be awarded. Youngster of all ages are welcome to participate in this creative activity.

Training sessions for our Summer Volunteer Program will take place June 26, for students entering grades 5 through 10. Register in advance for a time slot.

Take part in our Buggy Bingo June 29.Rain or shine, we will be playing from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Come and play Buggy Bingo for grade 1-5.Bring your beach towel or blanket.Prizes will be awarded to winners and tickets are available one week in advance.

Spinning Spiders, a storytime and craft program with the librarian and our summer readers will take place June 30, from 10 10:45 a.m. for children age 2- 5 and their parents.Free tickets are available a week in advance of the event.

Out first weekly raffle for What's Buzzin' at Your Library? reading program will take place June 30, at 2:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Sondra Lewis from Music Together, will conduct a special music program at the Storrs Library, Longmeadow June 28.This 10:30 a.m. presentation is planned for children one month to three years and their parents or caregiver.It will feature songs, music, and dance to promote your child's musical and movement development. Tickets are free and are available one week before the program.
