LYA announces summer program

LONGMEADOW LYA (Lubavitcher Yeshiva Academy) is pleased to announce a unique Jewish experience for the Greater Springfield community from Aug. 6 18. LYA will be hosting a Yeshiva Summer program.

Eight young Rabbinical students, Heshy Hoffinger, Mendel Jacobson, Aharon Liberow , Michoel Lipsker, Michoel Raskin, Yitzchok Raskin, Tzvi Selinger, and Asher Sossonko, will offer their educational training to the Greater Springfield community.

"The main purpose of the program is to reach out to the community and bring an awareness of Jewish identity," saidRabbi Yakov Wolff, one of the coordinators for this special learning program."Following the success of the first Summer Yeshiva Study Program in 2004, we are very excited to provide this opportunity to the community again."

Members of the community are invited to utilize this exclusive opportunity and take the time to encounter with their Jewish selves. Participants will be able to delve into their Jewish legacy and study Mysticism, Tanya, Talmud, Code of Jewish Law and even practice Hebrew reading in preparation for the upcoming High Holidays. Men who are interested in participating are asked to please call Rabbi Wolff at 567-8665 to schedule a time that is convenient for them.

When not studying with the community, the Talmudic scholars will spend the rest of their time learning together for personal growth.They will also have the opportunity to visit some of the local sites that the area has to offer and visit with members of the community doing outreach work. Their main focus will be on adult education study.

This Summer Yeshiva Study Program is sponsored by the Beis Medrash Luvbavitch and is being coordinated by Rabbi Cheski Edelman, Rabbi Shmuel Chaim Simenowitz and Rabbi Yakov Wolff. Study sessions will take place at LYA at 1148 Converse Street in Longmeadow.
