Panel to discuss exit options for Iraq War

Candy Glazer, the chair of the Longmeadow Democratic Town Committee announced that the Committee will host a panel discussion on the Iraq war. The event is titled "Iraq: What do we do now? Is there a way out?" The event is scheduled for Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., Storrs Library, 693 Longmeadow St.

The panel discussion will be followed by questions and answers with the audience. Panel members include:

John J. Fitzgerald, retired chair of the Social Studies Department, Longmeadow High School, a combat veteran of the Vietnam War and a co-author of The Vietnam War: A History in Documents.

Maureen Frazier, Longmeadow activist against the Iraq war, who attended the January 2007 anti-war rally in Washington, DC.

Robert Meagher, professor of humanities, Hampshire College, author of Herakles Gone Mad: Rethinking Heroism in an Age of Endless War.

Michael Meeropol, professor and chair, Department of Economics, Western New England College and author of Surrender, How the Clinton Administration Completed the Reagan Revolution.

Daniel Russell, professor of Social Sciences, Springfield College and author of Political Organizing in Grassroots Politics.

Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.
