LONGMEADOW — Twelve students from Springfield International Charter School completed a five week College Readiness Bootcamp at Bay Path University. Gianna Blasé, Alina Cantella, Matthew Valios, Tessa Ruel, Ciara Laboy, Emily Cieboter, Etinosa Aiguosatile, Sara Pierce, Tatiana McIntosh, Kaci-Ann Young and Natasha Harvey-Wainwright posed for a group photo at a ceremony recognizing their accomplishment. Albert Kyerene, who was not present for the ceremony, also graduated from the program.
The graduates were the inaugural group of high school students to participate in the program. In the spring, another group of students will attend the program, which sees high school students participate in coursework, learn about the college application process and meet department personnel.
“These students are the future and anything we can do to help them in the next phase of their lives ... we want to do,” said Academic Coordinator Dean Berry, who created the program with Dean of Academic Resources Peter Testori.
