LONGMEADOW Thanks to a generous donation by Shoenique Shoes in Longmeadow, many women will be walking in the right direction and in style.

Naot Shoes, a world leader in comfort footwear, teamed up with Shoenique and donated a pair of new shoes for every Naot shoe bought or tried on during a recent weekend. One hundered pair of shoes were divided between Propect House and Womanshelter/Companeras.

"I know [Naot] has done this in the past. Tom Cheffo, their U.S. Operations Director feels it's important to give back to the community. He takes discontinued, one-of-a-kind and overstock shoes and puts them out into the community," Lennon said. "The community is really great and my customers were great. They really get behind causes like this."

Lennon said he was very happy with the turnout. He also mentioned that, along with his shoe donation, he was able to drop 25 pair of new socks to each shelter thanks to a sock drive hosted by the Longmeadow High School Key Club.

He said all of these donations are important to these women because a lot of them "leave in the middle of the night and just grab their kids" without taking other necessities.
