Join the fun as Romper Rhythm and Puppets perform "The Bremen Town Musicians" at the Storrs Library in Longmeadow on June 28, at 11 a.m. You never know who might pop up as the musicians travel along the Reading Road. They will sing riddle songs and the audience will guess the books or stories in the songs. There will be lots of audience participation, fun, and focus on wonderful books and music. Of course with a fun happy ending, they become the official town band and catch a band of robbers besides. Diane Kordas of Romper Rhythm and Puppets will begin the puppet show with a musical introduction. She dramatizes favorite children's stories with colorful hand puppets and lively humor. A 15-minute puppet demonstration will follow the show. "The Bremen Town Musicians" is designed for children ages three to 10 and their parents. Although this event is free to the public, tickets are need and will be available one week in advance of the program by visiting the Philip Michael Lauro Discovery Room at the Library or calling 565-4182. |
