Storrs Library announces clubs, programs for Oct.

LONGMEADOW Teens and Tweens from grade four through grade eight are invited to the Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at the Storrs Library to learn how to knit at our new Knitting Club.

The Knitting Club will meet weekly for four Fridays beginning Oct. 14, from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m. Call the Discovery Room at 565-4182 to register and for further details.

Cuddle up with a favorite blanket, a Teddy, and a good book on Tuesday evening, Oct. 11, at the Storrs Library in Longmeadow. A special evening Pajama Storytime for children 3 to 7 years and their parents will be held from 7 to 7:30 p.m.

This relaxing program will consist of wonderful stories, restful songs and a pleasant time for all. Children are encouraged to come in their pajamas. Registration for this program is not necessary. To celebrate Teen Read Week the Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at the Storrs Library welcomes all teen and tweens in grades 5 and older to the your real life scrap booking program. Join Corrina Trude of Creative Memories on Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10:30 to 11:30 and learn the latest tricks and techniques of scrap booking.

Each program participant

will create their own collection of photo memories at the end of the

program. A small fee will be charged for supplies. Please call the Youth Services Department in the Discovery Room at 565-4182 to register and for further details.



The Youth Service Department of the Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at the Storrs Library will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. for teens and tweens grade six through high school for T.A.G. our Teen Advisory Group. The Discovery Room is looking for youth volunteers to become a part of this group. Members of T.A.G. will become involved in the planning and implementing of programs for all ages.

Your ideas and enthusiasm can help create programs, book discussions, and displays for the Discovery Room and its customers. The group meets on a monthly basis. Register by calling the Discovery Room at 565-4182.

On Thursday, October 13, youngsters in grades two through six are invited to the Storrs Library for a Yu-Gi-Oh PLAY AND SWAP. Get together with friends for an afternoon of skill, and fun from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Call the Philip Michael Lauro II Discovery Room at 565-4182 or visit the Library to register for our program.
