LONGMEADOW – Children took to the field on Dec. 8 to pitch and catch baseballs surrounded by the glow of holiday lights during the first Strople Holiday Stroll at Strople Field in Longmeadow.
The highlight of the event, which featured a luminary path, marshmallow roasting pits and hot food at the concession stand, was the lighting of the field. Lights were strung along the fences, and on the ground, marking the lines of the baseball diamond.
The Strople Holiday Stroll was a fundraiser for Longmeadow Little League, with entrance fees and concession sales from the dozens of families that attended all benefiting the team.
