Johnny Emmanuel "Bubbie" Nichols, 14

of Springfield passed away peacefully into the open arms of our Heavenly Father March 15, 2009 from complications of Trisomy 18. He was surrounded by the many people who loved him.

He leaves, to cherish his memory, his parents, Steven and Colette Nichols, a brother, Bryan Nichols, of the home, his maternal grandparents, Jean and Harry Ferree, and his paternal grandparents Rodger and Gwen Nichols, his Godfather, Norman Pronovost and his pet dog Ritchie , whom he loved.

He leaves a host of treasured caregivers who adored him: Carol, Daisy, Karen, Tim, Shawn, Daniel, Julius, Erika and Angel. The family would like to thank Palliative Care and all the doctors at BMC and nurses at PICU. There were many special people in his life who fell in love with him at first sight. Johnny touched many peoples lives with his zest for life.

A lifelong resident of Springfield, Johnny was a world traveler. His favorite beach was Labadee, Haiti. He loved Caribbean music and wrestling around with his big brother Bryan. His favorite job was as a Change Bandit for the Children s Miracle Network for many years. Johnny loved playing ball and playing with his balloons, and taking walks with his Mom. His eyes would light up and he had a smile that could melt your heart. He was such a happy young man.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 24 from 8 to 9 am at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, followed by burial at 10:00 am at Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Johnny s military burial rites will be provided by his father s benefits. At the time of the burial there will be a balloon release. Please feel free to bring a balloon for Holding on and Letting Go. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 23 from 7-9 pm at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home. Pastor Peters from Bethany Assembly of God will officiate.
