SOUTH HADLEY South Hadley Chorale is looking for singers to join its 2006-2007 season for the performance of Felix Mendelssohn's "Elijah." Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at The First Congregational Church, One Church St., South Hadley. Fall rehearsals will begin on Oct. 11 and run through Nov. 15. Rehearsals will resume on Jan. 3 and be held weekly until the concert, which is scheduled for March 25. This is the 20th season of the South Hadley Chorale and its second season under the direction of Deanna Joseph. Joseph is a conductor and lecturer at Smith College. Her responsibilities include conducting the Smith College Chorus and Smith Chamber Choir and teaching courses in sight singing, conducting and choral literature. "Elijah" is a magnificent oratorio of gargantuan proportions; it is one of the foundational works of choral literature, sure to please both the singers and the audience. The Chorale is made up of over 75 singers from 14 communities. Interested singers are invited to join, and no audition is required.
