Kosher meals available for seniors at JCC

Date: 12/3/2009

SPRINGFIELD After a short hiatus, the meals program at the Springfield Jewish Community Center (JCC) is once again serving healthy, delicious, hot kosher lunches Monday through Friday. Everyone age 60 and older is welcome. The nominal cost is $1.75 per meal. Weekly raffles are conducted with prizes ranging from plants and flowers to gift certificates and discount offers.

The newly appointed meal site manager, Herb Everett, is excited about welcoming new and old friends back to the JCC. "It is a great place to have lunch and socialize with other people from the community," Everett said.

Reservations can be made by calling 384-0363, 24 hours in advance (by 10 a.m. on the day preceding the meal desired). Stop by the Springfield JCC front desk for menu information at 1160 Dickinson St. (corner of Converse and Dickinson streets).

The Springfield JCC is a non-profit organization that serves critical needs of youth and senior adults for both the Jewish and the general community. The Springfield JCC is also a recreational and learning facility for all ages. All are welcome. For a tour, contact Abbie Weiss at 739-4715.
