Ministry founder to speak

SPRINGFIELD The Reverend Dr. Bruce H. Well, founder and president of Bruce Wall Ministries, an outreach program to youth and their families in Boston's inner city, will speak at the 68th Annual Dinner Meeting and Worship Service of the Council of Churches of Greater Springfield.

The annual meeting will take place on May 1 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 361 Sumner Ave. in Springfield. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the meeting. The worship service begins at 7:15 p.m. The fee for dinner is $20 per person.

Wall and his wife, Karin Wall, have both initiated and created Project 21, an after-school tutorial and mentoring program; a gangs anonymous group; a summer day camp program; and a computer center equipped with 50 computers to train adults, teens and children for employment.

A native of the Roxbury section of Boston, Wall is presently serving as the Senior Pastor of the Global Ministries Christian Church in Dorchester.
