Presz inducted into Engineering Hall of Fame

Dr. Walter Presz, Jr., son of Josephine Presz and the late Walter Presz, Sr., was inducted into the School of Engineering Hall of Fame at Western New England College on May 17. He was a member of the first graduating class of Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham. Presz proceeded to earn his bachelor's degree from Lowell Tech, his master's degree from MIT and his doctorate degree from UConn.

He worked at Pratt and Whitney for 18 years, coming to WNEC with a passion for solving problems in aerodynamics and for harnessing compressible fluid phenomena. He taught mechanical engineering for 20 years at WNEC, where he received the AT&T Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award and the Sears Teaching Excellence Award. He has published over 30 technical papers and is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Massachusetts.

Presz has been married for 42 years to Beverly (Trombley) Presz. They have three sons; Michael, Edmond and Thomas and are expecting their sixth grandchild this year. The plaque that he received will be permanently displayed in the Hall of Fame in Sleith Hall at WNEC in honor of all his accomplishments.
