SPRINGFIELD – For Titan Roofing, the building at 200 Tapley St. was “just the way we want it.”

Titan Roofing President Fred Pazmino met with Mayor Domenic Sarno on Nov. 14 to announce the firm’s move from Chicopee and its purchase of a building in Springfield.

Pazmino said the company has invested $2 million into the 91,000 square foot structure, which has been used by several tenants as a distribution center.

“It’s a perfect facility for us,” Pazmino added.

The one story building with many loading docks is close to Interstate 291, Pazmino noted.

Titan Roofing is brining its 30 jobs to the city, Sarno said, who described the company as “one of the premiere roofing contractors” in the region. He said among the company’s clients have been the Basketball Hall of Fame and the New York State House.

“We’re happy to get Titan Roofing here,” the mayor added.

Pazmino said the company had outgrown its leased facilities in Chicopee and will continue renovations through the winter for a May or June 1014 opening.

He hopes the move to the new building will increase business and allow the company to add employees. The company has five branch offices: two more in Massachusetts, two in New York and one in Connecticut.
