UU hosts Conversations on Race

SPRINGFIELD The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ) of Connecticut/Western Massachusetts, Inc. will host a public Community Conversations on Race (CCR) action forum titled "Building Community: Each One, Reach One!!" on April 27 from 5:30 p.m. 7:30 p.m. at Unitarian Universalist Society of Greater Springfield, 245 Porter Lake Drive, Springfield.

NCCJ Community Conversations on Race is a program dedicated to promoting dialogue on race relations, creating awareness and understanding of racial, ethnic and cultural divides, and transforming communities through individual and collective action. To date nearly 4,000 individuals in the region have benefited from the dialogue process.

Motivated by the themes and action ideas identified by CCR participants, the NCCJ's 2006 Community Conversations on Race public forum "Building Community: Each one, Reach one!!" invites community members to learn what role they can play in taking action and provides them with a framework for taking action to improve race relations in the community. Participants will share their Community Conversation on Race experience, become informed about opportunities for involvement in their communities and connect with other individuals to work collectively toward common interests.

Participation is free and open to the public. For more information or to register to participate, please contact: Sergio Oppenheimer at 860-683-1039 ext 105.
