Taste of the Valley brings amusement to all ages

WEST SPRINGFIELD -- The 10th annual West Side Taste of the Valley took place June 11 - 14 uniting alternative cultures, cuisine and music.

Linda Doussaint of Holyoke and Brie Ramey of Westside munch on some of their favorite foods from Pintu's Indian Palace and Moolicious Ice Cream. "It's the quickest way to get to dinner," Ramey said jokingly of the walk from her home to the Taste. She added that she returns to the event each year to scope out new and old flavors for her palette.

Makayla Flynn, a seventh grader at West Springfield Middle School, attempts to hit the target that will send Westside Football Captain Jose Flores plunging into the dunk tank. This event raises approximately $2,000 annually for the Terrier Football Association, which allocates funds for scholarships, user fees and equipment.
