West Springfield announces top three candidates for chief

carley@thereminder.comWEST SPRINGFIELD — The West Springfield Police Department took another step forward this week, when Interim Chief Capt. Ronald Campurciani, Capt. Daniel Spaulding and Capt. Daniel O'Brien were announced as the frontrunners for chief.
"We have received the results," Mayor Gregory C. Neffinger said. "The next step [is] the Public Safety Commission needs to review the test scores and make a recommendation."
Sandra MacFadyen, Human Resources Director for West Springfield, said, "The Public Safety Commission will review the candidates and give the mayor its formal recommendation."
At the time of publication, the Committee had not yet scheduled its next meeting.
William Fennell, chair of the Public Safety Committee, could not be reached in time for publication.
