An eighth grade orientation program for parents of eighth grade students headed into the high school will take place on Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. in the Minnechaug Regional High School Auditorium. Students may attend if they wish. Principal Marty O'Shea will welcome everyone and explain the evening's agenda. Mrs. Lewis, Guidance Director, will speak about graduation requirements and the course selection process. Associate Principal Tim Connor and/or Mrs. Muse, Math Department Chair, will speak about the transition from middle school to high school math. Parents will then go to the large cafeteria where, in an open forum, they will have the opportunity to speak directly with all the Department Chairs. In the forum, they may also review course curricula, instructional materials and samples of students' work. An administration-led tour of the building will also be available.
