Library announces home delivery service

HAMPDEN The Hampden Free Public Library last week announced that home delivery of library materials is available to any Hampden Library patron who is temporarily or permanently unable to visit the library.

Those who are homebound and would like to have books and other library materials delivered to them at home by one of the library's cheerful volunteers may call Cindy Bailey at 566-8212.

If such patrons do not have a CW/MARS library card, they will help in obtaining a Hampden Library card. CW/MARS is the library's new online catalog system that connects Hampden Library to other libraries across the state. If the Hampden Library doesn't have a book or DVD desired by a patron, the library can borrow it from another library.

Patrons with Internet access may order the materials they want online. Books from other libraries will be delivered to Hampden by the Western Massachusetts Regional Library Service, and then delivered personally to the patron. More volunteers are always welcome.
