HAMPDEN The Hampden Lioness Club has announced that its annual Spring Fashion Show will take place April 25 at Elmcrest Country Club in East Longmeadow. The event, which has been hosted by the club for over 15 years, is a benefit for their annual Charlotte E. Miller Youth Award Scholarship.

Spring fashions for the show will be provided by Dress Barn at the Tri-City Plaza, featuring casual, dress and business wear. Club members, friends and family members of all shapes and sizes will model the clothing.

The Charlotte E. Miller Youth Award Scholarship, which is named for a Lioness member who passed away, is given each year to a Hampden high school junior or senior who is very active in the community.

"We're looking for someone with strong volunteerism and someone who puts a lot of time into giving back," explained Lioness Beth Pecia.

She said applications are available in the Minnechaug Regional High School guidance office.

In addition to the benefit fashion show, Pecia said the Lioness Club hosts several fund-raisers throughout the year, supporting the different causes adopted by the Club. The Lionesses are currently working on a cookbook project, compiling recipes from past and present members. The cookbooks will be sold in time for Christmas giving, Pecia said.

The Hampden Lioness Fashion Show will begin April 25 at 6 p.m. with a social hour, followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. For tickets or more information call 566-8332.
