Police Association announces golf tourney

HAMPDEN The Hampden Police Department would like to invite the public to take part in their golf tournament.

The 3rd Annual Hampden Police Officers Association Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 9 at the Hampden Country Club. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Some of the all-you-can-eat food served will include hot dogs, hamurgers, and sausages. Dinner will be provided at 6 p.m. with raffle and awards for various winners.

Officer Radcliff Kenison told Reminder Publications that raffle prizes include a television, DVD player, grill, golf acessories, gift certificates and more.

They will also offer tee and green sponsorships for businesses to advertise for particular holes on the course. Any and all donations will be appreciated and will go toward their raffle drawings.

Proceeds from this golf tournament have assisted the Association's efforts in supporting the following programs in areas such as: Springfield Melha Shriners, Hampden Lions Club, Hampden Minnechaug High School Fund, Hampden Memorial Park Project, The National Jimmy Fund, National Night Out, N.A.A.R., East Longmeadow Heritage Park Project, East Longmeadow Jaycees Fishing Derby and many others.

The Police Officers Association of Hampden is looking forward to continued support for these and other programs throughout the area. The Association is open to support local causes call 566-8011 for more information and entry fees.
