WILBRAHAM The Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School district has voted to accept 35 School Choice students for the 2006-2007 school year.

Twenty-three students will go to Minnechaug Regional High School, six in grade eight and another six in grade seven. Those in grades six and seven will be divided between Thornton W. Burgess and Williams Middle Schools as follows:

Six seventh grade students three for Thornton Burgess, three for Wilbraham Middle School.

Six eighth grade students three for Thornton Burgess, three for Wilbraham Middle School.

Superintendent Dr. Paul Gagliarducci noted at the last School Committee meeting that School Choice provides over $300,000 a year to help reduce assessments in both towns. Wilbraham receives $200,000 and $100,000 goes to Hampden.

The school district would not see the revenue from the 2006-2007 choice students until 2007-2008.

Applications to participate in the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District School Choice Program can be picked up at the Office of the Superintendent 621 Main Street Wilbraham, MA 01095. Applications must be returned no later than March 3.
