Superintendent announces new principal

WILBRAHAM After completing a comprehensive search process, Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School District Superintendent Paul C. Gagliarducci recently announced that Stephen M. Hale will become the principal of Soule Road Elementary School effective July 1.

Hale currently serves as assistant principal at North Middle School in Westfield. Previously he was a teacher and principal at St. John the Baptist School in Ludlow, where he lives.

"Mr. Hale emerged as the candidate of choice very quickly in the process," Gagliarducci stated. He also noted that Hale showed a strong desire to continue the technology programs at Soule Road School. A site visit to North Middle School indicated Hale was noted for being a good communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Gagliarducci reported reported that "Our on-site team was very impressed by the comments from North Middle School parents and teachers."

According to Gagliarducci, Hale will begin his new job during the summer and will be ready to greet his new students in the fall.

"I am looking forward to having Mr. Hale join our administrative team. He has much to offer the District."

"We were fortunate to attract some very qualified people to the process. The screening committee was very impressed by Mr. Hale's enthusiasm and energy. I think he will fit in well with the South Road community and our District."

Hale is replacing Mrs. Brosnan, principal at Soule Road Elementary School, who will become the principal at Mile Tree Elementary School upon the retirement of its current principal, Mrs. Kimball.
