The 24th Annual Peach Festival is on

I'm pleased to announce that thanks to the fantastic show of support, the Wilbraham Community Association will host the 24th Annual Peach Festival at Fountain Park on Aug. 15, 16 and 17. I believe the Festival is a great family-friendly way to end out the summer but it cannot happen without the support of the community. Whether you can give us two or 200 hours (or any amount in between), your assistance is gratefully appreciated.

As we discussed at the Save the Peach meeting, we have a dire need for support, not just during the festival itself, but for the weeks and months leading up to it. We have set up a series of meetings in the next five weeks to discuss the various areas of the festival (please see the end of this article). Please attend any that are of interest to you. We hope these meetings, combined with the information passed out at the Save the Peach meeting, will help you decide where you would like to assist us.

At the end of March, we will begin having monthly meetings to provide quick updates on all areas of the festival, and discuss any new business that has arisen. These meetings are open to anyone interested in the festival.

In addition to ideas and feet on the ground, we are also looking for folks to help us connect to civic organizations and local business to offer them an opportunity to be part of the Festival. We would like to significantly increase the number of civic groups at the festival in order to help them promote themselves. In the past they have done this by running or sponsoring an activity, an informational display or featuring them in the program book -- but we'd love to hear other suggestions.

If you have any questions, the best ways to contact us are: askthepeach@aol.com or at the Peach Office at 599-0010.

On behalf of the Officers and Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your willingness to help the WCA continue the Peach Festival.
