Belchertown Farmers and Artisans Market to host winter market

BELCHERTOWN — The Belchertown Farmers and Artisans Market will be hosting a winter market on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It will include approximately 15-20 vendors and will take place at Jabish Brook Middle School, 62 N. Washington St.

Market Manager Katie Bobbin said you can shop different items from local crafters, farmers and artisans ranging from fresh vegetables, dog treats, spice mixes, candles, wood crafts, chocolate treats, baked goods and gifts.

“There is a nice wide range of gift items and food for people’s gatherings. We hope everyone comes out and supports the market,” Bobbin added.

The winter market has been taking place for a few years according to Bobbin and she enjoys what it brings to the community.

“I think it definitely offers the community a space where they can some of their holiday shopping local which I think is really important to come out and support local business,” Bobbin said.

She added, “I love the community atmosphere. It’s nice to see everybody out and about at in person events which has been difficult to pull off the last couple of years."

The December winter market is the second hosted by the Belchertown Farmers and Artisans Market is as many months.

Bobbin added, “The first market went great. It was really well attended so we really appreciate the customers coming out to support all of our vendors. We were happy with the turnout.”

The Belchertown Farmers and Artisans Market also hosted a summer farmer’s market series that was every Sunday from June to October.

Bobbin said it has been a month since she saw the vendors, so it was nice to see their support again.
She added, “Getting to see all of the vendors again you know as the manager, our last outdoor market was in October so the November one we hadn’t seen each other in a month so it was really great to see everybody doing well.”
