Belchertown's Hope United Methodist to host Holiday Bazaar

Date: 11/3/2022

BELCHERTOWN – On Nov. 5, the Hope United Methodist Church will host its annual Holiday Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They will have crafts and baked goods from the church’s crafters and bakers, along with several vendors including Little Black Dress who will be selling their clothing inventory at 40 percent off.

There will be a silent auction with a Harley Davidson quilt made from Harley Davidson T-shirts from all around the country, Giclee prints and hand knitted sweaters. Someone will also be selling a variety of original Barbie dolls.

Lay Leader Alice Collins mentioned there are multiple churches and buildings in town hosting their own bazaar events so the turnout is usually very constant with residents coming and going throughout the day to make sure to check out all the crafts and baked goods.

Food will include a jam and jelly shop that Collins said the church is well known for, and a cookie shop that is a newer addition to the event but very popular.

All the cookies are homemade by people of the church and Collins added that the cookies are such a hot commodity that they never last the whole event. She said to get there before noon for those who want to try some.

People will be able to fill a bag with cookies of their choice for $5. There will also be a breakfast bar with muffins, donuts, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice.

Collins added, “I am usually working this event and I enjoy it because I see people I do not often get to see as much and catch up with them. I enjoy doing crafts also, so it is amazing to see all the other local crafters and be able to get my bag of cookies.”

Collins said that the event is both a fundraiser for the church but also a community event for people to support local businesses.
