Stage set for Belchertown’s annual town election

BELCHERTOWN – With Belchertown’s annual town election just under a month away, the ballot was finalized on April 15.

In the race for Select Board, both Chair Jen Turner and Clerk Ed Bosher’s seats are up for election, with Christopher Dunn running against the two incumbents for one of the seats.

With Diane Brown not seeking re-election for her seat on the School Committee, Finance Committee member Jonathon Ritter and local business owner Natalie Santana are squaring off for the opening.

With two openings on the Board of Health, incumbent members Leeanne Connolly and James Potter are running for their seats against newcomer Victoria Noble.

In terms of uncontested races, incumbent Planning Board member Elizabeth Poles is running unopposed and Board of Assessors member Raymond Goff is also running unopposed.

While there is no one running for the position, there is also an open seat on the Housing Authority.

The polls are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 16 at the Belchertown High School gymnasium.
