Easthampton Learning Foundation to offer pair of summer programs and financial assistance

Date: 5/31/2022

EASTHAMPTON – With summer camp around the corner, the Easthampton Learning Foundation (ELF) is excited to share a unique pair of opportunities with families across the community.

Camp Kinda is an exploratory learning experience in search of new Easthampton members. ELF is doing their part to provide access to Camp Kinda, a group dedicated to high-quality online learning and designed to keep children 3 to 13 years of age as entertained as much as educated.

The camp crew is made up of a small but mighty team of former teachers, principals, school counselors and other education professionals. Camp Kinda was created by mothers and fathers who know how hard it can be to figure out schools and keep kids on track.

Camp Kinda was created during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic, when schools were operating remotely and go-to activities like camps, libraries, sports and playgrounds were suddenly off-limits.There are a series of various titles and teachings for each child to choose from, whether it be “The Craft of Magic” seminar to the “Into The Waves” class that educates students about the universal flow of water.

No matter who you are or where you live, ELF is encouraging people across the region to check out the benefits of their summer program. For those with limited internet or need help with laptop services, Family and Engagement Coordinator Jean Libby is available to help families find exactly what they are looking for.

Libby will also be reviewing applications by Easthampton Public School’s (EPS) new exploratory summer learning program that looks to ease any issues that parents have when it comes to enrolling their children. If interested in the summer learning, please note that all information will be kept confidential.
Stipends are given to families of students from EPS Grades K-12 on free and reduced lunch as well as limited financial resources. This is to help cover the cost of attending camps during spring and summer breaks. All applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with funds distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, until impending funding runs out.
