EASTHAMPTON – The city of Easthampton hosted a ceremony at the Public Safety Complex on the morning of Sept. 11 to commemorate lives that were lost during the 9/11 attacks 20 years ago. The city’s first responders were all present, including the police department, fire department and some military personnel. Among the speakers were Easthampton Fire Chief Christopher Norris and Mayor Nicole LaChapelle. The city conducted five bell strikes in a series of four twice during the ceremony, with a slight pause in each series, to remember the lives lost. The Police Department lowered the American flag at the complex to half-staff as well.
