SOMERS, CT – Kathleen Lorraine is a psychic, medium and energy healer. She has been connected to the Earth and spirituality since she was young. In May, Lorraine opened her own business, An Angel’s Window, at 102 Main St.
Lorraine said that she didn’t tell many people about her spirituality when she was young because of their reactions.
“As a child I knew things, I saw things, I felt things,” she said.
She self-taught herself through books, articles, and movies. About 12 years ago she began to take spirituality classes and six years ago she took her first mediumship class. She then decided to pursue it as a career.
After operating her business out of her house in Vernon, she decided to open a shop in Somers this year. An Angel’s Window offers monthly classes and workshops, personalized mediumship and tarot card readings, homemade jewelry, candles, essential oils, stones, crystals, pendulums, different psychic books and more.
Lorraine’s classes differ each month. She has previously taught classes on how to make healing jewelry, lessons in reiki, drumming circle classes, spell classes and more. She also offers a psychic and mediumship class for beginners almost every month.
In her psychic and mediumship class she focuses on teaching meditation, chakra systems, tarot cards and developing the area of the brain used for psychic mediumship.
“Anyone can learn it because everybody has it inside. I’m sure you’ve probably parked in a parking spot one time and decided you didn’t want to park there so you moved the car or something and you had that gut feeling inside… That’s just being psychic and following your gut. We help people learn how to get out of their own minds and into that stage,” she said.
The classes run for six weeks and are usually on Saturdays. According to Lorraine, taking these classes can cause your life to begin to change dramatically.
“If you’re not ready for everything in your life to change, don’t come to the class because the minute you start to raise your frequencies and you start to learn a little bit about different things, you’re gonna see things from a different point of view and positive things are going to start changing for you,” she said.
Lorraine said that her favorite part of owning her business is being able to help customers and see them as friends.
“I really love being able to help people. Especially with the mediumship. I’ve had people come in and they’ve lost their son or their daughter and they have unanswered questions or they’re very upset about something and they feel like they didn’t do something right with the funeral or so on,” she said.
She said she is then able to give them the answers or reassurance they were looking for.
“They come in broken and they walk out smiling and that really makes me feel good,” she said. “I feel like people walk in as a customer and leave as a friend and mean something to me.”
Since opening, Lorraine said that the town of Somers has been extremely supportive.
“I’m not sure if it’s just Somers or what not, but everybody’s been saying this is exactly what this town needed, you’re in the perfect spot for everybody to see … It’s just been a really, really uplifting thing,” she said.

Lorraine encouraged people to give her business a try because of her great customer service and sincere dedication to her craft.
“I always try to make sure that people are satisfied. If I wouldn’t be happy with the reading that I’m giving somebody, I wouldn’t charge them. I want them to know that it’s real, it’s true, I’m not in it just for the money and I just love what I do,” she said.
