Enfield business makes custom furniture from repurposed wood

Date: 9/29/2021

ENFIELD, CT – A new home-based  wood working business has opened in Enfield.

Panella’s Woodworking offers Adirondack chairs and outdoor furniture, as well as cutting boards, coasters, bottle openers, coffee tables and custom pieces. Owner Vincent Panella, who started the business in July, likes to utilize repurposed wood as much as he can that would normally go to the landfill.

“I fell into wood work by chance,” Panella said. “I have always enjoyed building and working on projects, but I found that I can be creative through wood working and it’s something that I really enjoy.”

Panella started making Adirondack furniture and decorations for the home he recently bought in Enfield. His friends and family liked what he had made and inspired him to sell his furniture and decor online. Soon, Panella began to market himself on Instagram, Facebook and through word-of-mouth from family and friends.

“If someone wants a custom piece, I like to work with customers on different designs and styles and make what fits their needs,” Panella explained. “I’ll make suggestions on what I think will work best, but I like to give the customer the ability to have what they are envisioning. I like to work with the customer and build that relationship with them to make sure they’re happy and they get the product they’re looking for.”

Panella told Reminder Publishing he would like to start participating in farmers’ markets and craft fairs in the coming months. He’s also beginning to set up an Etsy account to get ready for the holidays. In the meantime, Panella can be found on Instagram and Facebook at Panella’s Woodworking.

“The most rewarding part is being able to make custom and personalized gifts,” said Panella. “I like knowing a customer has a piece that is locally handcrafted; they can have something that’s personalized, fit exactly what they want and have it forever.”
