Frieda B. launches online community for adults

Date: 4/7/2022

SOMERS, CT – On April 3, Frieda B., LLC unveiled their new venture, Our Neighborhood, an online membership community for adults, providing daily conversations, classes, events, readings, interviews that offer the autonomy, community and resilience that people crave.

“Think of it as daily, healthy social-emotional media,” Author/Co-owner Renata Bowers responded. “You’re surrounded only by others seeking the same goodness for self and others as you are. So, this is a safe place to learn, love and share.”

Frieda B. is the key character in the national-award-winning Frieda B. series of children’s books. Bowers writes this series to help children and adults know that, just like the key character, they are free to be their own one-of-a-kind, never-before-told, amazing and important story. According to Bowers, everything they create and offer from books, products, programming, events, time at The Story Barn centers around one goal – awakening the one-of-a-kind story within every person they meet of every age.

“The truth is, every single person on earth is wired with a unique and powerful story to tell,” Bowers said. “Each of us longs to be seen, heard, and loved, and to know I matter, I belong, I can. Not only that, each of us wants the people we love to know that. So, we just keep creating ways for people to receive and experience that.”

She continued, “What we’ve found is that this good stuff, the story-building content and conversations we spearhead. It’s like broccoli for the brain and heart as human beings we need it more than every once-in-awhile. We need it regularly. So how do we make that happen? That very idea is what seeded Our Neighborhood.”

There are different spaces and offerings in Our Neighborhood, including a visitor section, a book and gift shop, Bowers’ blog, the “welcome wagon” space for new neighbors, a conversation café, recipe swap section, a schoolhouse section, Frieda B.U., Chapel section which discusses faith-based perspectives, an upcoming events section, a resource and story library section, and a video library.

Month-by-month membership for Our Neighborhood is $9.99/month. Annual membership, however, is $109.89 which is the equivalent of a month for free. All Our Neighborhood members receive a 20 percent discount on all Frieda B. products, as well as access to exclusive programming not available to the public. Through May 15, anyone who joins Our Neighborhood will receive a free signed copy of Bowers’ new book, “Let Them Be Little: a Book of Encouragement for Parents,” which releases May 1.

“I think the people who will find a lot of value in Our Neighborhood are people who crave authentic community, who want support and resources for building a strong story for themselves and the ones they love,” said Bowers. “Together, we can build a great story, and turn times of challenge into chapters of greatness.”
