ENFIELD, CT – Opening Day of the Enfield Farmer’s Market took place on July 26 on the Town Green. Noah Lis, former contestant on “The Voice,” entertained vendors and visitors alike, who wandered the Green shopping, eating, and saying a socially distant hello to friends and neighbors. People were able to buy a wide variety of items from fruits, vegetables, honey, duck eggs, and farm fresh dairy products to handmade jewelry, goat milk soap, and Alpaca woolen items. Food vendors were busy serving up wood-stove baked pizzas, kettle corn, pierogi samples, ice-cream and other treats.
Town officials were out in force to support this venture, meet and greet residents, and to thank Patrice Sulik, director of Health for the North Central District Health Department, for excellent guidance and support throughout the pandemic.
Mayor Michael Ludwick commented, “It was very nice to see people outside and simply having some fun again. All of the credit goes to Connie Provencher, Deb McCarthy, Chris Bromson and our entire staff who helped make it happen, as well as to all the vendors and corporate partners who contributed! It was a great re-start to the Farmer’s Market! We hope to continue to build upon the positive momentum as we move forward!”
Event organizer, Connie Provencher, explained she was grateful for the “great team that worked together to make something good happen for Enfield,” especially during these difficult times. She said it was great to see everybody who attended, and thanked all of the vendors “who did an excellent job.” She hopes people will continue to visit the Market every Sunday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. throughout the season.
