GRANBY – The Granby Selectboard made several appointments to committees and discussed four warrants at their Dec. 7 meeting.
At the beginning of meeting, the Selectboard moved to appoint David Desilets and Kevin Shewmaker to the Conservation Commission and Interim Fire Chef and Ambulance Director Robert Czerwinski to the Hazard Mitigation Committee, Granby Forest War, Western Mass Regional Local Emergency Committee, Local Emergency Planning and Hampshire Regional Emergency Planning Committee all expiring June 30, 2021.
There were four warrants in front of the board on Dec. 7. Warrant 32, a bill paying warrant, was dated Nov. 20 in the amount of $159,576.07. Warrant 33, a payroll warrant, was dated Nov. 27 in the amount of $438.65. Warrant 34, a maintenance warrant that goes with warrant 33, was dated Nov. 27 in the amount of $368,366.50. Warrant 35, a bill paying warrant, was dated Dec. 4 in the amount of $368,618.95.
“I will let the board know that under that warrant those are only town bills at this point in time, due to the school central office having been shut down, those invoices were not turned in so they were not able to be paid,” said Town Administrator Christopher Martin. “They will not be paid until they are sent over to this office. Once the school invoices are received, they will be processed.”
The Selectboard moved to approve warrant numbers 32, 33, 34 and 35 for fiscal year 2021 and made a motion to postpone accepting departmental reports until their next meeting on Dec. 14.
The board approved the common victualler licenses of the American Legion Inc, Granby Legion 266 Lounge located at 74 Pleasant St., Harry Martidis’ Pizza Palace Restaurant located at 31 West St., Granby Liquor Store located at 60 West State St. and Bruso Liquor Mart located at 367 East State St. These licenses expire Dec. 31, 2021 unless sooner suspended, cancelled or revoked and $25 fee.
They also approved the automatic amusement permits for the Granby Legion 266 Lounge. These licenses expire Dec. 31, 2021 unless sooner suspended, cancelled or revoked and $20 fee.
The Selectboard approved the liquor licenses of the Granby Liquor Store located at 60 West State St. and Bruso Liquor Mart Inc located at 367 East State St.. Along with the pool table permit and entertainment license consisting of karaoke, DJ or comedian, small bands, mystery dinner theater, singers and piano players for the Granby Legion 266 Lounge.
The board then moved to sign the incumbency letter for a total of $1,840,718.49.
Toward the end of the meeting, the Granby Selectboard discussed the water main proposed project. They noted they are forwarding the list of properties that want to connect to the proposed line.
A draft letter to their state senator and state representatives will be reviewed at the Dec. 14 Selectboard meeting.
