HADLEY – The Hadley Public Library has purchased 10 new computers for public use with remaining funds from the building project.
When moving into the new building and preparing it for opening, the library decided to make the decision to purchase new computers that were up to date.
“They were purchased as part of this building project,” said Library Director Patrick Borezo. “Once the public came in and started using the (old) computers, we realized we had to replace them because they were too slow and had too many problems.”
There are six computers available in the main area of the library, two in the children’s room and two more in the youth/young adult room. Borezo says the computers have been utilized plenty since being put in.
“This is one of the main functions of the library, to get people internet access,” Borezo said. “We get a lot of people to come in and do a number of things. A lot of people come in working on a resume or applying for jobs online. A lot of people also come in for printing, it’s amazing how many people don’t have their own printers so we can help with that.”
The library has seen great use of the children’s room and the young adult room as well and these new computers added to the library as a whole will serve as a valuable resource in the community, according to Borezo.
“The young adult room for teenagers, that room is crammed every day and those computers are always in use continuously after school,” Borezo said.
