HADLEY — Hoping for a repeat of last year’s successful venture, the Friends of the Hadley Public Library will again host their annual Book & Bake Sale on Saturday, May 6.
Taking the library’s ongoing book sale a step further, Saturday’s event will offer a larger and wider variety of books for sale, said Patty Judice, a board of directors member with the Friends of the Library, a nonprofit organization which offers additional support to the library.
Many of books available are editions once lent out by the library and there are others that come directly from public donation. In addition to newer books, children’s books covering a number of genres and topics there will some selections not regularly available.
“This year there are older books and vintage books, many of them have to do with town history, area history and history about the region,” Judice said.
Baked goods and foods, donated by community members will be available for sale and musical entertainment will be provided by R&B band, ‘Packing Shed.’
“The money that we raise goes to future library programs.” Judice said.
With a positive outcome last year following an interruption by COVID-19 restrictions, Judice said the board decided to continue with on the tradition.
The Book & Bake Sale will run on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hadley Public Library at 50 Middle St.
