HADLEY – During the month of September, the Friends of the Goodwin Memorial Library will be hosting a silent auction.
All proceeds collected through the duration of the event will go to support future library programs.
Beginning on Sept. 2, they will have a dozen gift baskets up for auction. Each one will have a theme: coffee, beauty, fitness, and other categories.
To participate in the auction, there will be clipboards in the main lobby of the library for each basket.
The clipboards will contain the information needed to participate, including the minimum bidding raise amount.
The month-long bidding cycle concludes on Oct. 2 at 2 p.m., and winners will be posted inside of the library and notified personally at that time.
Individuals may stop by the Hadley Public Library during business hours to participate in the event.
The library is open from 2 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Goodwin Memorial Library, Hadley’s public library, is located on 50 Middle St.
The Friends of Goodwin Memorial Library conduct various efforts to raise funds and awareness for the library, including raffles, book and bake sales.
Other means of support provided by the group includes providing volunteers for the library’s special projects, refreshments for library programs such as the annual Holiday Open House, and special purchases including the outdoor book drop, according to information provided on their website.
The Friends group meets monthly from September through June on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
The group is always open to new members. Membership applications are available at the Goodwin Memorial Library.
