Brimfield Craft Fair & Harvest Festival expected to be ‘biggest year yet’

Date: 9/13/2022

BRIMFIELD – For three years, The Brimfield Community Partnership has hosted a Craft Fair & Harvest Festival on the town common. Due to its successes and expansion, the event has been moved to Brimfield Auction Acres – the land adjacent to the Brimfield Winery.

On Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Craft Fair & Harvest Festival will unfold. Robin Gamache, vice president of The Brimfield Community Partnership, said attendees can expect “a lot of family fun.” From children to adults, she noted that there is something for all.

Some of the activities slated for the day include games, an “Out of the Ark” educational show, “Here Today Adopted Tomorrow” dog walk, bounce house, pony rides, dunk tank, live music and more.

Gamache shared that there are over 60 vendors and crafters booths to visit as well. Some of the vendors include Kelly Petrack door hangers and wreaths, Steerage Rock stitching, Daisy Designs, M&M Family Farm’s goat milk soap, Bryson’s maple syrup and Petals & Loops Designs, to name a few.

Gamache, owner of another nonprofit known as “Autism in My Pocket,” will also have a booth set up.
She went on to say that they tried adding more “harvest” vendors to the mix this year, including the Petrie Family Farm. Gamache explained that they represent over 35 farms across Massachusetts.

While there is still space for vendors to sign-up, Gamache asks interested participants to email her at brimfieldcommunitypartnership@gmail.com. At the festival, there will be three local food trucks offering hot dogs, waffles, ice cream and more. The Brimfield Community Partnership will also be selling popcorn and cotton candy. As the event is located next to the Brimfield Winery, the winery will be open for attendees to enjoy their drinks.

There is no cost for admission, however, some of the games and food will have a cost.

As a nonprofit based community organization, Gamache explained that they rely solely on donations. Aside from the Craft Fair & Harvest Festival, their other big event of the year is for Easter. Some of their other events include fundraising for a Brimfield senior at Tantasqua Regional High School and decorating the town common during the holidays.

Gamache shared that herself and five others make up the board. “We started this five years ago,” she said. As community members, they wanted to do something to bring everyone together, added Gamache.

While it’s primarily the six of them running the operation, she said they are always looking for help from volunteers.

Since beginning this partnership, Gamache said she has noticed an increase in attendance at events, not only from Brimfield residents but surrounding towns as well. Over the years, she said they have seen anywhere from 600 to over 1,000 people attend the Craft Fair & Harvest Festival.

This year, she assured, will be the “biggest year yet.”

Gamache pointed out the improvements to hosting it at Brimfield Auction Acres. This includes a new and more widespread location, a safer location as it is off the road and overall, a “more family fun” experience.
