HOLLAND — The Second Annual Fall Fest will kick off Saturday, Sept. 30 at Hitchcock Park on 27 Sturbridge Rd. Sponsored by the Holland Wales Baseball Softball League, the festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with live music from Michael Kae Music and the John Wayne Experience.
There will be face painting, a bounce house, obstacle course, games and raffles, an outdoor movie at dusk, a bonfire and plenty more. Beer, wine, food and ice cream will be available for purchase as well as unlimited access wristbands available for inflatables. The Fall Fest is free admission and donations are welcomed to benefit the HWBSL players.
“We want to bring everyone together and have a great time,” said HWBSL President Michael Breor. “We’re trying to put together events for the community. Holland/Wales are smaller population towns in Massachusetts. Sometimes it’s harder to put together these events because the attendance might be lower.”
He continued, “Our goal is to make Fall Fest an event where we support our local communities, but also open it up and welcome neighboring communities so all families can attend and have something fun to do around this time of the year.”
HWBSL provides baseball/softball programs consisting of T-Ball, coach pitch, minors and majors serving youth ages 4-12 in the Holland and Wales communities. The program is 100 percent supported by parents and members of the community who volunteer their time.
“We provide an opportunity for children to learn the game, understand the value of teamwork and establish childhood memories that we hope last a lifetime,” Breor responded. “We want to raise money and help the program grow to support all the families that want to have children participate in youth athletics.”
