Jasa Farms plans to bring marijuana license application to Cummington ZBA

Date: 4/27/2021

CUMMINGTON – Jasa Farms LLC has applied for and is awaiting the approval on a marijuana license in Cummington.

This marijuana establishment is an outdoor cultivation only facility and is set to be located on Bryant Road.

On May 12 at 7 p.m., the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) will host a public hearing to review the application of Jasa Farms at the Community House located at 33 Main St. The hearing will also be virtual. Social distancing and mask wearing will be in effect for those attending the in-person session.

Chris Vianello, working on a new opportunity with Jasa Farms, said they’ve already submitted their application to the state. In order to qualify for the approval that the ZBA requires, Vianello said they needed a state license before completing the application process.

According to Vianello, the opportunity to obtain a marijuana license was presented to them at the time.

“We found land and a landlord. It works for us – it’s remote,” claimed Vianello.

He added there have been some concerns about the proposal, however if everything works out as planned, people wouldn’t even know their facility was there.

Additionally, if all goes well in the public hearing, the next step is to work with the state and move forward with their current plans.

“Seeds will be put in the ground in June and we’ll harvest in October,” explained Vianello.

From October until April or mid-May, the facility will not be in use.
