HATFIELD — A grand opening ceremony was conducted on Dec. 2 to celebrate the official opening of The Beauty Bar on 22 West St.
The hair studio, which was formerly located in Amherst and named Vici Hair Studio and Beauty Bar, moves into Hatfield “offering any type of hair service,” along with facials, waxing and other aesthetic needs as well.
“We just really want a nice, one-stop-shop environment,” Beauty Bar owner Kate Poole told Reminder Publishing back in the summer. “I’m a mom and a lot of my clients are moms, so I think it’s so important to have that time to take care of ourselves.”
Poole, a Hatfield resident, said she wanted to move to 22 West St. because of her adoration for the town and also because hair salons were lacking in the area.
“There’s really nothing between Deerfield and Northampton,” Poole said. “Everyone has to leave the town and spend their money outside of the town, so I really wanted to bring something back home for everybody.”
Before opening Vici, Poole went to the Paul Mitchell School in Rhode Island, which is a cosmetology and beauty school. She graduated from hair school in 2006 and has now spent 17 years entrenched in the industry.
The new studio is open 12-7 p.m. on Mondays, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
