HILLTOWNS – The Hilltown Community Development Corporation has partnered with local retailers to create the Hilltown Food Bucks, a local effort to help Hilltown residents stretch their food dollars while supporting critical local food businesses in a difficult time of social and economic stress.
The Hilltown Food Bucks program, which runs until May 31, offers up to five months of coupons redeemable at local stores for discounts of $5 off each $10 worth of purchases. If you spend $80 at a store or farm stand, you can use $40 worth of coupons and pay $40 from your own food budget, for example.
Each eligible individual or family will receive $100 to $125 worth of Hilltown Food Bucks a month, depending on household size. Seniors over 62 are eligible without proof of income.
Residents of Blandford, Chester, Huntington, Middlefield, and Montgomery (included in the Community Development Block Grant) are eligible to apply. Program funding is limited, and is on a first come, first serve basis.
Food Bucks can be redeemed at the following Southern Hilltowns markets: Chester Village Market, Moltenbrey’s Market in Huntington, Cream of the Crop Farm in Russell, and The Blandford Country Store.
Other eligible stores and farm stands include Corners Grocery Store and Sawyers Farm in Worthington, Chesterfield General Store and Crabapple Farm in Chesterfield, Old Creamery Coop in Cummington, Intervale Farm in Westfield, and Williamsburg Market in Williamsburg.
